Suspension of Micro Surface Dressing Programme 2022- Further information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As recently advised, we have needed to suspend our micro-asphalt highway surfacing programme for this year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As this is a weather dependent activity and we do not anticipate that the remainder of the micro-asphalt programme will be completed within 2022.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We will continue to inspect these roads and make safe defects requiring intervention.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Some of these roads may deteriorate over the winter and micro-asphalt may therefore not be the most suitable surfacing to use in 2023. We will need to reassess the roads and determine what the most appropriate surfacing option will be.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It is necessary to suspend the programme as tragically, an employee of our micro-asphalt contractor was sadly killed in an accident involving a lorry. This accident remains under investigation and I do not feel that it is appropriate to restart the programme while this is the case.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yours faithfully,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
